EQM500
Highlight or Subdue Vocals
Vintage Design Principles, Modern Precision
EQM500 draws its design philosophy from the golden age of American audio engineering, embracing the simplicity and sonic integrity of early passive equalizers. Its circuit architecture reflects the timeless approach pioneered by classic designs such as the Pultec, where musicality takes precedence over complexity.
Precision LC Resonant Circuits
Each of the three bands—LOW, MID, and HIGH—is built around a dedicated LC resonant filter. High-precision inductors from UTM Industry, manufactured to 1% tolerance, ensure consistency and accuracy across units. English Grayhill switches provide reliable, stepped frequency selection.
Transformer-Balanced Signal Path
Both the input and output stages are transformer-balanced using UTM transformers, delivering excellent isolation, headroom, and harmonic richness while maintaining a stable and noise-resistant signal path.
Focused Midrange Control
The MID band offers attenuation across a wide range from 200 Hz to 7 kHz, targeting the most energy-dense region of the audio spectrum. This makes EQM500 especially effective for removing room resonances, clarifying dense arrangements, and shaping vocal presence.
Musical Low and High Enhancement
The LOW and HIGH bands allow boost-only frequency selection, adding body, weight, and air in a smooth, musical manner that enhances instruments and vocals without sounding forced or artificial.
