A-Type 525 is a modern reissue of a classic American feedback compressor, built entirely with discrete components using through-hole construction. This approach preserves the response, tone, and character of the original while ensuring long-term reliability.
Innovative Gain Control System
The signature “Compress” switch simultaneously adjusts gain and threshold, allowing compression intensity to be changed while maintaining consistent peak output levels. Separate Threshold and Output controls provide further refinement when needed.
Ultra-Fast Transient Control
With a fixed 15 μs attack time, A-Type 525 excels at controlling fast transients. Four selectable release times—0.1 s, 0.5 s, 1.5 s, and 2.0 s—allow precise tailoring of dynamic behavior across different sources.
Compressor, Limiter, and De-Esser Modes
Two ratio modes (2:1 compression and 20:1 limiting) expand its flexibility, while the integrated de-esser mode provides targeted control of vocal sibilance without external processing.
Versatile Studio Workhorse
