Comprehensive Dynamics Processing

Unlike many 500 Series compressors, the OC1 features a complete control set, including Input, Output, Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, and Wet/Dry Mix controls. Precision 21-position detented knobs ensure accurate, repeatable settings, while PGM mode intelligently adapts release times to programme material for smoother compression with reduced pumping.

BIG, AIR & CRUSH

Borrowed from Drawmer’s acclaimed 1973 compressor, BIG mode reduces sidechain sensitivity to low frequencies, producing tighter, more natural bass response. AIR mode preserves high-frequency detail and openness throughout compression, while the integrated CRUSH circuit adds harmonic saturation, analog warmth, and enhanced musical presence when desired.

Comprehensive VU metering displays gain reduction or selectable input/output levels, while hard-wire bypass guarantees completely transparent signal comparison. Dedicated stereo linking allows adjacent OC1 modules to operate as perfectly matched stereo or multi-channel compressors, making the OC1 equally at home on individual tracks, stereo buses, and mastering chains.
