MQ-1
500 Series Equaliser
The Drawmer MQ-1 revives the essence of the iconic Motown sound with a modern, meticulously engineered design. Its seven-band proportional-Q architecture offers effortless, musical tone shaping that feels instantly usable in any tracking or mixing context.
The standout CRUSH circuit adds a layer of harmonic richness, enhancing low-end warmth, midrange presence, and top-end smoothness as you drive the signal. Hand-crafted in the UK, the MQ-1 is built for engineers who value classic analogue character, intuitive workflow, and uncompromising sonic detail.
Vintage EQ with CRUSH
Inspired by the revered “Motown EQ,” the MQ-1 is a single-channel, seven-band proportional-Q equalizer that brings back the unmistakable character of Detroit’s 1960s recording studios.
Musical Analogue EQ
Built as a fully analogue design, the MQ-1 offers seven bell-shaped bands with ±10dB of cut or boost at the same sweet spots as the classic original. Its proportional-Q behaviour automatically tightens or widens the bandwidth as you add gain, giving you a smooth, natural, and highly musical EQ response.
“The EQ circuit is precisely what most people need in a tracking situation. This is a no-fuss, get-a-good-sound EQ.”
— Garrett Haines, Tape Op
The CRUSH Circuit
The signature CRUSH feature is adapted from the acclaimed Drawmer 1971. When engaged, it adds gentle harmonic saturation, thick low-end weight, enhanced mid presence, and a refined, airy top. Push the gain harder and the saturation increases, delivering an expressive, classic analogue feel.
Hand-Crafted in the UK
Designed and built in the UK, the MQ-1 reflects Drawmer’s commitment to precision engineering and exceptional sonic performance. Whether you’re chasing vintage soul tones or sculpting something modern, the MQ-1 brings unmistakable warmth, depth, and detail to every session.
