MC7.1
Surround Monitor Controller
The Drawmer MC7.1 is a powerful surround and stereo monitor controller designed for studios working across film, broadcast, gaming, and immersive media. With support for 7.1, 5.1, and multiple industry-standard surround formats, it delivers precise, transparent monitoring and fast format switching without compromising stereo accuracy.
A comprehensive cut/solo matrix, mix-down capabilities, preset reference level, flexible I/O, and talkback options make it a versatile centrepiece for modern production environments. Rugged, intuitive, and engineered with Drawmer’s signature sonic neutrality, the MC7.1 gives engineers the confidence and control needed for demanding multichannel workflows.
Ultimate Control, Accurate & Transparent
The Drawmer MC7.1 is a dedicated 7.1 / 5.1 surround and stereo monitor controller designed to deliver comprehensive surround mix-checking without sacrificing stereo precision. Built on the same pristine signal path and rugged desktop wedge design as the acclaimed MC3.1, it serves as a powerful, flexible monitoring hub for professional studios.
As surround sound becomes standard across film, television, streaming, gaming, and immersive media, engineers need tools that can adapt. The MC7.1 supports 7.1, 5.1, quadraphonic, DTS®, Dolby Digital EX™, THX Surround EX™, DTS-HD™, and more — all while maintaining the accuracy and transparency that define the Drawmer name.
All the Control in One Desktop Unit
Many surround controllers prioritise multichannel work at the expense of stereo. The MC7.1 excels in both. Whether you’re mixing an immersive soundtrack or refining a stereo master, it lets you switch between formats instantly and confidently.
Its comprehensive stereo mix-check functions — the same tools found in the MC3.1 — can be applied to any surround channel routed to stereo, ensuring consistent monitoring decisions across every workflow.
“I can honestly give the Drawmer MC7.1 my highest recommendation. If you don’t need all the capabilities of the MC7.1, I recommend giving the rest of their monitor controller range serious consideration.”

Preset Volume Control
A secondary preset volume control allows you to store a calibrated reference level. With one switch, you can instantly return to your preferred monitoring level — a critical capability for accurate, repeatable decision-making.
Well Connected
Designed for modern surround workflows, the MC7.1 includes a wide range of inputs and outputs for seamless integration:
- Two sets of balanced 7.1 inputs
- One 7.1 thru connection
- One balanced stereo input
- Front-panel AUX input
Outputs include balanced 7.1 speaker feeds and an independent stereo main output with optional subwoofer support. This allows operation in mono, stereo, surround, or eight discrete channels depending on your setup.
Advanced Monitoring Features
A versatile mix-down function allows surround signals to be routed to the front left/right monitors or stereo mains, enabling fast compatibility checks. A powerful cut and solo matrix gives precise control over any channel in the system — solo the rears, isolate the centre or LFE, or collapse to stereo at the touch of a button.
- Switchable mono or subwoofer output with level matching
- Low, mid, and high band solo for frequency-focused evaluation
- Internal talkback microphone with footswitch support
- External talkback microphone input
Built to Last
Smart, stylish, and solidly constructed, the MC7.1 is housed in a robust steel chassis engineered for years of reliable daily use. Premium components ensure consistent, transparent performance session after session.
