The CMC7 is a streamlined 8-channel (7.1 / 5.1) surround volume controller created as a practical, cost-efficient counterpart to the feature-heavy MC7.1. Portable, focused, and purpose-built, it omits functions typically managed within the workstation and concentrates instead on the essentials: clear controls, intuitive workflow, and a pristine, transparent signal path. The result is accurate, uncoloured monitoring across all channels.

As with every Drawmer controller, the CMC7 is engineered for absolute neutrality. Its active circuitry preserves the integrity of the source with precision, avoiding the inconsistencies and signal loss common to passive designs. What you hear is what your mix truly contains.

Flexible Surround Format Support

Connectivity is provided through two balanced 25-pin D-sub connectors (Tascam standard), ensuring simple integration into modern studio systems. Handling eight discrete channels, the CMC7 accommodates a wide range of surround formats, including:

Essential, Streamlined Monitoring Controls

A stereo mix function instantly folds the surround signal down to 2.1 via the front left/right monitors and subwoofer, allowing quick stereo compatibility checks. A high-quality headphone output with dedicated amplification and level control supports accurate private monitoring.

Additional front-panel essentials include:
• Dim switch (-20 dB)
• Mute switch for complete output cut

Everything is positioned for fast, confident adjustment during critical listening.

Accurate surround work demands consistent level matching. The CMC7 maintains precise balance across all eight channels throughout the full volume range. Where passive systems often suffer from channel inconsistencies due to multi-ganged potentiometers, the CMC7’s active architecture keeps every channel aligned at any listening level.
