2U Channel Strip

The Drawmer 1977 is a flagship analogue channel strip designed to deliver pristine capture, musical shaping, and rich harmonic character in one complete recording front end. Combining an ultra-clean preamplifier, a three-band parametric EQ, smooth soft-knee compression, and selectable harmonic saturation, it offers exceptional flexibility for tracking, mixing, and creative sound design. Switchable signal paths, parallel processing via wet/dry mix, and Drawmer’s signature Big and Air modes make the 1977 equally capable of transparent precision or vintage-inspired colour.

Vintage Character with Modern Precision
The Drawmer 1977 is the most advanced channel strip Drawmer has ever created, combining classic analogue warmth with precise, modern control. Designed as a complete front-end solution, it brings together pristine amplification, musical EQ, smooth dynamics, and controllable harmonic saturation in a single, highly flexible unit.

From transparent tracking to richly coloured tone shaping, the 1977 adapts effortlessly to any recording task, delivering depth, clarity, and unmistakable analogue character at every stage of the signal path.

Pristine, Versatile Pre-Amplifier
At its core is an ultra-clean pre-amplifier offering microphone, line, and instrument DI inputs with up to 66 dB of stepped gain. It captures detail with exceptional transparency while providing the headroom needed to enhance dull sources or refine guitar tones without noise or harshness.

Switchable input impedance allows accurate microphone matching and creative tonal exploration, ensuring optimal performance from condensers, dynamics, and ribbon microphones alike.

Precision Parametric Equaliser
Inspired by classic 1970s analogue designs, the three-band parametric equalizer delivers fully variable frequency control with ±12 dB of cut or boost. A variable bandwidth control on the mid band enables everything from surgical correction to broad, musical shaping.

This flexibility makes the EQ equally effective for subtle enhancement, problem-solving, or bold tonal sculpting during tracking or mixing.

Vintage Compression & Harmonic Saturation
The soft-knee compressor provides smooth, musical dynamic control, while Drawmer’s signature Big and Air modes preserve deep low-end weight and sparkling high-frequency detail.

A dedicated saturation stage introduces harmonic richness with three selectable characters — Clean, Warm, and Overdriven — allowing precise control over colour and intensity. The signal path can be switched between Gain-EQ-Compressor-Output or Gain-Compressor-EQ-Output, offering distinct sonic flavours to suit different sources and styles.

“…one of the best-equipped channel strips on the market and impresses in terms of versatility, workmanship and sound.”
— Jörg Hoffmann, Amazona.de

Output Stage & Final Control
The output section features a wet/dry Mix control for effortless parallel processing, letting you blend EQ, compression, and saturation to taste. An Output Fade control allows smooth fade-outs or precise level matching, while a large backlit VU meter provides clear, accurate monitoring.

For the cleanest possible signal path, the Preamplifier Direct switch bypasses the EQ, compressor, and saturation stages entirely, delivering a pure, uncoloured output straight from the pre-amplifier.
